The "WA Privacy" Chrome extension was built with your privacy as the absolute priority. This policy outlines how we handle your information.
This extension operates 100% locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, distribute, or sell any of your personal information, chat history, contacts, or browsing data.
The extension uses your browser's local storage (`chrome.storage.local`) purely to save your chosen settings (like blur intensity, timers, and toggles). If you use the WhatsApp Lock feature, your password is mathematically hashed and stored locally on your device. We have no access to this password or any of your settings.
The extension requires permission to read and alter the WhatsApp Web page (`https://web.whatsapp.com/*`) solely to apply visual blur filters to the screen and intercept local web traffic to hide your online/typing status. None of this data ever leaves your computer.
If we update the extension to require new permissions, we will update this policy accordingly.
If you have any questions, you can contact the developer via the Chrome Web Store Support tab.
